Differentiation Strategy in Algae Fermentation: Converting Algae Biomass into Highly Functional Raw Material
Kybele’s Garden offers its industrial partners not just a raw material, but an ingredient-enriching solution that they can integrate into their formulations.
With our current position, Kybele’s Garden is a strategic provider in the market, both developing technology and offering high value-added products. With our differentiation strategy, we are taking a pioneering role in the sector by developing algae-based bioponic technology and the Algae Fermentation method that is not in the literature.
Algae technologies are of great importance for solving global challenges such as climate change and the food crisis, due to their ability to capture carbon through photosynthesis, detoxify air pollutants through biological processes, and have a much smaller water footprint than animal products.
Technological Superiority: Fermantation Mechanism
The power of our technology is based on the three-stage superiority offered by the Algae Fermentation process. This process maximizes the absorption (bioavailability), efficacy, and functional richness of the bioactive content.
1. Cell Wall Barrier and Biological Breakdown: Algae are protected by rigid cell walls surrounding their valuable molecules. Our fermentation process breaks down these walls, eliminating the biggest barrier to the release and absorption (bioavailability) of bioactive content by plants/cells.
2. Complex Molecule Conversion and Efficacy Increase: Even after cell walls are broken down, complex molecules like proteins and carbohydrates inside are difficult to utilize. Fermentation converts these structures into smaller, plant-stimulating peptides and usable components, multiplying the efficacy of the final product.
3. Microbial Enrichment: Maximum Functional Added Value This is the strategic difference of our technology.Special microorganisms added to the fermentation process produce new bioactive ingredients. These include components like enzymes, natural chelating agents, and phytohormones, which add a competitive advantage to the product.
Clinical solutions
In bioponics; harvest yield, source efficiency, functional contents like beta carotenes, chlorophylls and carbon capture capacity parallel with chlorophyll contents can be boosted. With our fermentation, it is possible to improve functional content, sensory attributes and shelf life and it is applicable to both classical and bioponic algae. The outputs of these technologies can be used as raw materials and end-products for especially agrifood and skin care. Also, these can be integrated to some current producers’ systems for upgrade.
